before we get started was show you a quick article… This was in 2009 and it was about Google trying to acquire another mobile marketing company by the name of AdMob for $750 million.for those of you all that are new to Channel Marketing MOJO… AdMob is pretty much considered the Google AdWords of the mobile marketing world and even though Google launched their own mobile type of platform. They simply could not Compete with AdMob, and you guys already know goggles trend.
They tried to compete with YouTube… and they couldn’t. So they bought YouTube.
They tried to compete with Double-Click… and they couldn’t. So they bought Double-Click.
Then they tried to compete with AdMob… and they couldn’t, So they bought AdMob four $750 million.
we all know that Google is a very smart company and they wouldn’t put out $750 million for a mobile marketing ad network. If they didn’t see the potential in mobile marketing and I’ll touch upon this later. Let me first finish pointing out a few things about Cross Channel Marketing MOJO.
Yahoo is also going crazy purchasing mobile marketing properties… As well as Apple has recently purchased QuattroWirelessNetwork.com which is also another mobile marketing at network.
So you going to start seeing a lot of the major players trying to acquire these mobile companies.
and what of that tell you? That tells you that it’s going to be a huge push towards mobile devices… Especially since the iPad 2 has come out and the screens are even getting bigger with the smart phones coming out.
Why Cross Channel Marketing MOJO?
I have to say that I was actually kind of shocked myself as I began to prepare content for this mobile marketing article… I kind of thought in my mind that the numbers would be similar to how I began in 2001. As far as the growth of Internet users are concerned. But the reality is that that’s not true at all. The number of cell phone subscribers, is in the billions.
and this chart will show that we just actually passed the 4 billion subscription rate in mobile and that was done here recently and now it’s as much as 5 billion subscriptions. Now that doesn’t actually mean 5 billion people. It is subscription rate. So the real number of actual people… Because some individuals have more than one cell phone, and that sort of thing but the statistics have always reflected that fact.
the important part is that you can really see that Internet users in comparison to cell phone subscribers literally dwarfs the number of people that are using them, and compared to the world’s population. It just means that mobile is such a huge market and such a tool to reach people in so many ways and that people will just be using it in so many ways that you can’t even imagine.
