Cross Channel Mojo Information & Updates

Cross Channel Mojo Information

Again I’d like to look at the differences between a regular website, a mobile website, and a Cross Channel Mojo. I’d like to show you my personal website that I use for local businesses. You can see that when I pull it up using the iPhone tester here, it doesn’t look very nice.

I don’t think people are going to drive around and be looking for my business unless they’ll be coming to meet me at a meeting. In a sense, I want to make sure that there is a mobile website because let’s say for example someone is coming to have a meeting at my office even though realistically I’ve never had a meeting at my office. I always go to my client. Let’s pretend for example that someone’s coming to see me and they come here and here is my site and there’s little thing here where they will have to scroll around to find what they want.

Cross Channel MojoCross Channel Mojo Advantages

I don’t even have my contact information on my first page. They have to actually go to here which is going to cause them some trouble so what I do is I created a simple site. Let me just show you what it looks like here. There you go it’s not too flashy and actually it’s a work in progress. I need to put some images and such on here but you can see here that people come here. It’s pretty simple and I have my phone number and then I have how to contact me, my… Of course business address and all that good stuff. So that’s what that is.

Now what does this stuff look like in terms of actual code? A mobile website uses a it’s not, it’s actually something different, so you want to be aware of that which means you can’t just go out and create a very simple HTML page. Well, you can but it’s not going to be optimized. You can see here that, I’m using IPhone because it is the most popular search phone but this will also work in more simple phones as well.

We can see here that the browser is not very wide and everything is viewed like that. So let’s take a look at the code. In this code I actually used a mobile website builder that’s free. I’m going to talk about that more. You can see here, this is the code and what it looks like. It’s kind of a bunch of gibberish.

So that’s basically what a mobile website looks like. There’s also as you can see here, people looking at it can push numbers on their phones like the individual pages as well which is pretty cool. One thing that I have on mine is that people can type in where they are to get directions. Let’s say that I’m coming from Chicago and there you go. Bam! Cross Channel Mojo: Now the person has directions that they can just use as they continue to drive.

My Honest Opinion & Review

That’s really easy to do. So that’s of course what you want to do especially compared to something that’s going to look like this. That sort of website looks different with a different HTML. I’m going to you through how to build a mobile website. It’s different but it’s not hard to do as long as you have some help so we’re just going to take it step by step like Cross Channel Mojo

Mobi Site versus Hosted on Same Site. What I want to talk about is, so you decided that you want to have a mobile website for a business maybe to yourself or to your client. You need to decide where this site is going to be located. There’s actually a couple of different options that you can have.

One thing you can do is you can create the mobile site and have it be underneath the site that you’re promoting. So for example, let’s say that I… Like the way I setup mine up here. localcommercesolutions.com is where my main website is but my mobile site is underneath that called mobile. So what you do is then you need a way when people come to your main site, you need a way to direct them to your mobile site. So whenever someone uses their computer they are taken to this site and whenever somebody uses their phone they are taken to a folder during my Cross Channel Mojo funnel. That’s one way to do it. Another way to do it is to go out purchase a domain and have an entirely separate site for your mobile business. That’s what I suggest that you do because there are a few reasons actually.

Just first thing you want to do is check and make sure it’s even possible that your client already owns the mobi that doesn’t have anything on it. You’ll be surprised. Mobi is an extension available at GoDaddy. There we go and I’m just going to type stuff in here just to show you an example. I’m also going to show you that at the time of recording this video, mobis are pretty reasonable. They’re $7, so that’s even cheaper that a .com from GoDaddy, so keep that in mind.

Features,  Advantages & Benefits

There are a couple of different advantages to actually having a mobi site rather than hosting it underneath the directory where your regular site’s going to be. And those advantages include: it can be purchased rather inexpensively as I mentioned just a couple of dollars. It makes redirecting easier. When we start to talk about whenever someone comes to your main site you need a way to get them to the mobile site and if it’s on an entirely different domain it’s going to be easier to send people there.

Just because:

  • I’ve got to tell you I spent hours trying to work it out the other way and I can’t do it.
  • And that If you can do it please let me know
  • And I think there’s other reasons to have a mobi site
  • If you really want to go out there and start doing this with the least amount of hassle, you want to create a mobi site for the business.

…Plus it looks cool.

I know that the first restaurant that I started this with, he was excited to have a .mobi site because this is something that people are starting to talk about and having it opens up some doors.

Cross Channel Mojo

It allows you to market your website separately. So for example you can go out. You can take the mobi site and submit it to mobile directories and the .mobi extension tells the search engines this is the mobile site.

So ideally, it’s going to make it easier and in theory to have your mobile site rank better when people are doing searches using their phones because the search engines will know that you’re using a phone. It gives you additional “virtual real estate”. Now of course this doesn’t mean that when a local business starts to promote themselves that they need to be even telling people about their .mobi site.

They don’t, when people come to the .com site they’re going to be automatically redirected to the mobi site as long as they’re using a phone. So I just think there are a lot of advantages and I want to encourage you to do it that way. This is the way that I’m going to do this in these videos so I suggest that you do it that way.

If you are more ambitious you can go ahead and put it in a folder that is underneath the site that you’re working with. I just don’t suggest it. I think there are more advantages to doing this and it is worth these seven bucks to take care of additional hosting to have the mobile website.

Cross Channel Mojo it also allows you to justify charging more money when you are setting up a site. For a business because you are building them an entirely separate website not something that’s just going to sit underneath a folder on their site because I think a business owner would look at it and say, “Hey you’re building me a mobile site and it’s not even on its own domain.

It’s just underneath my normal site. Why are you charging me so much?” I think there’s a lot of reasons to do it that way. One final reason is that this is what big companies are doing. If you look at some really big companies they have their own mobi sites.

These mobi domains are… They’re selling rather quickly because a lot of businesses are moving this way. So again, you want to panel yourself or you want to position yourself. You want to pick up these mobis before they’re all gone too because that seems to be the way that things are moving in the industry.  Important things to keep in mind during Site Design Okay so now it’s time to start talking about building a mobile website for someone, for yourself or for any business and before we do.

Cross Channel Mojo

You want to present the main business message quickly. You want to ask the business owner, “If you only have 10 seconds to commit someone to tell them what the advantages of your restaurant, what do you want it to be?” And that’s what you want to be there. I know that for the restaurant that I’m working with, one of the things that he wanted to say was to explain what kind of restaurant it is because if someone’s looking to find a restaurant we want to quickly show them if it’s exactly what they’re looking for or if not. You want to offer a “call” button as well as the ability to get immediate directions if a retail website. So again if someone is looking for a restaurant and yours pops up and if you have a button in there that says “click here for directions from where you are right now” it’s going to make the person’s life easier.

So keep all these things in mind when you are building your Cross Channel Mojo…!
